Open Eyes in a Darkened Room

 It is 2019 in Los Angeles. Rick Deckard, a "blade runner" (a hunter licensed to kill humanoid robots called "replicants") is tasked to search and kill 4 "replicants". They had rebelled against their assigned places of work and life and escaped to Earth to confront their "creator" for a solution to their designed limited life span. In his investigations and pursuit, Deckard is confronted with questions about his own identity and wonders who is more human. 

Originally released in 1982, the perfectionist director Ridley Scott has chosen to put together and release his definitive cut in 2014. This cut has been hailed as "a masterpiece of dystopian science fiction on film". But in our time, is it science fiction?
