Date: Thursday, 20 November, 2014
Time: 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Venue: 420 North Bridge Road #05-04 North Bridge Centre, Singapore
Theme: Staying Healthy as a Family-Perspectives from a Christian counsellor
Speakers: Mrs Poh-Cheong Mun Yee
Synopsis: Just as we are so hung up about our own personal health, why can't we do the same for our own family? The family unit today is vulnerable to many "diseases", both externally and internally. How can the family unit combat such "diseases" and build its immunity? Perhaps, the Christian faith can provide a possible remedy. Speaker's profile: Mrs Poh-Cheong Mun Yee is a registered counsellor and social worker practitioner for the last five and half years. In those years, she has worked with a wide spectrum of issues, ranging from couples undergoing or contemplating divorce, parent-teenager relationship, mental health and even family violence. She is also a committee member of the Fellowship of Christian Care Professionals, a Sectional Group of the Graduates' Christian Fellowship, Singapore. Mun Yee is happily married to an in-house lawyer and as one with a passion for family life, Mun Yee firmly believes that a firm foundation in family life stems from a strong relationship between husband and wife and that strong family relationships provide better protection against mental health issues.
