Date: Thursday, 20 August, 2015
Time: 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Venue: 420 North Bridge Road #05-04 North Bridge Center Singapore 188727
Theme: Forgiveness, Faith and Feeling Good-Talking about forgiveness in therapy
Speakers: Ms Shelwyn Tay

Is forgiveness "just" a Christian concept? Can and  should it be raised as a desirable course of action to pursue in therapy? Are there "benefits" to forgiveness beyond the spiritual? This session provides a brief overview of what recent research has revealed and encourages participants to consider how they, as Christian care professionals, may approach the topic in conversations with their clients.

Ms Shelwyn Tay is a Clinical Psychologist in private practice. She has worked in the field of mental health for over a decade, and is experienced treating a range of psychological disorders in both adults and children. In 2012, she set up The Integrated Psychology Practice with a view to explicitly integrating Christian faith beliefs with her training in mental health.

Shelwyn is current Chairperson of the Fellowship of Christian Care Professionals. She worships at St. John's St. Margaret's Church where she is involved in the Adult Cell and Worship ministries.
